Cheap Kodak Zi8 HD Pocket Video Camera (Black) NEWEST MODEL

I've got a baby on the way, and thought that this small unit would be perfect. Its super portable, i can carry it in my pocket to catch any moment. While that is all true, be warned that the image quality is only good on a computer monitor, and even full screen sucks. If you view on a 20" monitor or bigger, it is very grainy. The motion is very poor as well. If your pan across your room, it is VERY choppy, even at the highest setting.
IS this a good replacement for a real camcorder? probably not. But because of its portability, you will be able to catch all the little moments that you normally wouldn't, because you don't carry your bulky camcorder everywhere you go.
I don't have any real experience with any other HD mini cams. But because its considered HD, i expected a lot more. I won't return it because its convenience and relatively cheap price, although i've considered it, but i now know I need to spend the big bucks a real camcorder as well.
